Sammendrag
In the last two decades, the subject of regional integration has featured prominently in the agenda of (and policy research on) most developing countries. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is one of the prominent blocs. SADC was formed in 1992 and currently consists of 14 member countries with a total population of about 200 million, and a combined gross domestic product (GDP) of about US$ 190 billion.
