Corruption is involved in poor medical product quality in five important areas: manufacturing and distribution, regulation, procurement, high-level governance, and the health workforce. Existing corruption pressures impact the quality of medicines, and the Covid-19 pandemic has amplified the proliferation of falsified medical products. Innovative and existing anti-corruption approaches concentrate on prevention, detection, and response.
